Book Giveaway

Moms, Ministry & More

Last week, I got a very nice note from Heidi, who is a missionary in Asia. Her mom had sent her a care package which included Christian magazines. And it just so happened that two of the magazines were a January Discipleship Journal and a July Today's Christian Woman. It also just so happened that I had articles in both these magazines, and that Heidi read them sequentially. Somehow she noticed that the two articles were both written by L.L.

Well. She looked me up in the blogworld, wrote me her sweet note of encouragement and asked me about Stone Crossings. Then she shyly asked if I might be willing to let her interview me for her blog. I was happy to oblige.

Heidi asked too if I'd be willing to do a book giveaway. She said she'd never done that before and I said, Sure I can do that. I've never done it before either, so we'll be in this together.

Which is all to say that Heidi will be sharing the interview and starting the giveaway on Monday. I'd be so pleased if you dropped by to see what she asked and maybe win a signed copy of Stone Crossings. If you already own one, I suppose you could use it as a Christmas gift. Or a paperweight. I bet you could use one of those, no?

UPDATE:

I just wanted to share this very touching comment to Heidi's post, from someone named Patty...

What an amazing post. Thanks for sharing this with us. At times in the interview, I found myself crying. I think I need to read this book! Great post.

What a brilliant idea! I have a book coming out shortly. I like the idea of a book giveaway.

I have been feeling a bit down this Thanksgiving , but have hope that things will look up.

How will it work? I plan a few book signings in my region. I am so glad you posted this! I will use this idea. I could do a draw in the store or something.
Thank you so much!

Laura, I am having so much fun doing this! But I do have to say that I am embarrassed about how Blogger handled the fonts on my post. They just will not post correctly! It is driving me crazy!!!

Kirsten... who knew we could ever have so much fun? :)

Rebekah... isn't she sweet? I'm enjoying working with her on this.

Heidi... No worries. I thought you did that on purpose and I thought it looked quite nice. Isn't that funny? You've done a marvelous job. Thanks again!

I will order the book, regardless if I win or not! You did something to me through your words yesterday that's rarely been accomplished. You hooked me as a reader within a few sentences. You're not a word-waster. I can tell. Like my author-friend, Alicia Chole, you pack a punch and hit on some truth with hard hitting emotion...raw and real and painted as is--as it happens.

That's the essence of great writing for me. I hadn't heard of your work before yesterday, but I eagerly await the arrival of your thoughts.

Just had to stop in a thank you for Stone Crossings

Your book falls into my 'delightful' category, as I carried it around reading and relishing the text all weekend, wielding pen, hi-lighter and post it notes -using them liberally

Starting my second read this week as that's what I do with very good books : )

Again, thank you L.L., what a blessing you are,
