Love You Too
Sonia, you are full of life and joy. Thank you for your love poem. This is for you...
"Sonia"
how beautiful,
how beautiful are the feet,
your feet, my child,
unearned, unasked for,
dancing in my life
the smallness of your toes,
the softness of your arches
that curve my mind
to the Holy Child
that Child
who tiptoes 'round
the edges of my soul,
singing good news,
how beautiful,
how beautiful indeed.

It must run in the family (I mean poetry and not your feet...excuse the pun!)
Another nice poem and photo!
I hope you have a great weekend Laura!
All the best
Martin
PS The pebbles escaped!
Love the soft details you portray of your daughter's feet. My children's features never cease to amaze me.

Yes. To think of a child, any of our own children, and then the Christ Child, God's love gift to us, in this way, is very moving. Very nice poem, and photo.
Our children are on loan to us for such a short time, they are so precious. What a lovely caring poem.
lovely.
Your children have lovely feet? My smallest child will be 8 next week. You might think he's light because of his size, but when we walk up those stairs, that boy's feet are heavy as anvils.
One of my favorite foot-related memories is of my adorably cute daughter sitting on the floor as a toddler, picking fuzzies from between her toes.
(grinning) How beautiful, indeed.
LL, I loved the part about her brightness in your life being unearned and unasked for, and how eventually the beauty of her feet move your mind to the feet of Jesus -- also a love in our lives that is unearned and unasked for. His mercies are new and amazing every morning, aren't they?
Martin... Oh, puns. We love puns here, and will go on and on with them for half hour if someone doesn't round us up and threaten us with the pebble jail. :)
Andrea... yes, I know what you mean.
Ted... it always amazes me that He came as a child.
ExS... children a gift for a time... always good to remember.
Heather... thanks!
Craver... only a child could make fuzzy-toe picking a beautiful thing! :)
Christianne...funny, I hadn't thought of that aspect. See? This is what I love about creating art. I create it and then it recreates me, in presenting a new vision.
Late as usual.
Several others have commented that they like moving from thoughts of your child to thoughts of the Christ child. I agree completely. Especially because of the wonderful verb you chose to make the switch:
"the softness of your arches
that curve my mind
to the Holy Child"
Great stuff.
Wow...WOW!! I am in awe. Beautiful poem. Beautiful website.
Mark... thank you. As always, you are so encouraging, and you see into the heart of poetry (you must have been an English teacher or something. :)
llama... thanks for the compliments. This is my place to dream and muse and show the work of others to the world. :)
