On, In, and Around Mondays: Getting Ideas from Pinterest
I got lost this weekend.
In Pinterest.
Hadn't been interested, until my friend Cheryl Smith said it's the fastest growing social network on the Web right now.
Really?
Had to see what the fuss was about. And now I know.
Color, color, and more color. What's not to love? It sparked so many ideas I could barely keep up with them. So I had to make an office. Or something like that.
Do you Pinterest? If so, let me know what's on, in and around your Boards. Tell me where to follow you. And we can pin color together.
_______
On, In and Around Mondays (which partly means you can post any day and still add a link) is an invitation to write from where you are. Tell us what is on, in, around (over, under, near, by...) you. Feel free to write any which way... compose a tight poem or just ramble for a few paragraphs. But we should feel a sense of place. Would you like to try? Write something 'in place' and add your link below.
If you could kindly link back here when you post, it will create a central meeting place. :)

I am afraid to check out Pinterest. I think I would become an addict.
I was afraid to check out Pinterest because I'd heard how addicting it can be. It really hasn't been for me, though. I've also noticed that most of the things I pin have to do with words. I look at many others who pin images and color and ideas. There's probably some sort of right brain/left brain appeal to Pinterest. It's fun, but I'm glad I haven't found myself addicted to one more social media site :)
I finally joined Pinterest about a month ago at the urging of most women around me. :-) I hesitated for the same reasons others have mentioned--afraid I would get addicted.
But it hasn't drawn me in too much; it's so visual and I'm more into words than pictures. Whew. I don't need more internet addictions. ha
I'm still navigating my way around it, trying to find where I fit in. I'm still not sure. :-)
I haven't even looked at Pinterest. Thus far I've managed to avoid it on the grounds that "it's mostly for women." Don't know if that's true or not, but it's been a good excuse to steer clear, anyway.
My wife recently started visiting Pinterest, and it has resulted in some pretty cool creative dinner ideas.
So far I'm a fan...vicariously...
I've been there for a while, but have to be careful to lose myself in a constructive way, or I'd never get back out again. I'm starting to store book reviews there, because they usually come with a cover image I can pin. :P

I love the new office...I can picture myself working there just fine :). Pinterest is very inviting for those of us who are visual. Never enough avenues to explore beauty if you ask me. Tons of it here. Always.
I piddled a bit with pinterest this weekend, for about an hour to try and figure it out. I did find a jar I had been wanting to use for prayer requests - at container.com - LOL - so something wonderful came out of it! I'm not worried about the addiction - but then I'm still not very adept:)
Oh I am in LOVE with Pinterest! Just set the timer and when it dings, you're done. I have ideas for Christmas and birthday gifts, crafts, and more.
I love pinterest, but have managed to avoid becoming addicted. Just yesterday, one of my boards gave me some ideas for how to decorate my kitchen - so I find it a helpful place. Certainly it has been helpful in furnishing my vision for my book.
The sweet suite looks great, thank you for your perspective on my photos :-)
So funny: I just blogged my Pinterest philosophy and completed projects, last night: http://brandeeshafer.blogspot.com/2012/01/pinterest-inspired-projects.html
There's a button on my blog to link up with me. I'm not sure if you can look up people by their names, on Pinterest?
I absolutely love Pinterest!! I am an artist and writer so this is another wonderful outlet for me and a way to witness as so many of my pins speak of our Lord and His word.....I would love to share Pinterest with all of you....I'm under Cate Tuten....thanks so much and happy pinning!
Love your "office"!
Pinterest is a great place for collecting color, ideas, inspiration.

i can't really keep up with the blogs i want to read....so no pinterest for me! maybe ove rthe summer break from school....
I just joined Pinterest and am still learning to find my way around. I am impressed at all the beautiful photos that you have pinned already on your boards.
I'm a pinterest lover as well. The ideas you can find on other's boards are endless. My boards growing slowly because I spend so much time drooling over the pins of others. http://pinterest.com/jodeel/
I haven't joined Pinterest. I haven't even started Twittering. Oh, the advances of technology put me to shame.
Ooh, I love your office. May I work there too? Even if I don't yet have my own Pinterest board?
I love Pinterest -- So many interesting things to see and do... I seem to go in spurts -- :) Have a fabulous weekend.
Oh yeah! I'm a Pinterest fanatic. In fact I was just there before coming to Google Reader to catch up on some blog reading. You can see my pins by going to http://pinterest.com/gracepete/
I like Pinterest because not only is it highly inspirational but it's also mindless so I can scroll through the pages, pinning photos while watching TV with my hubby. Plus I like the idea of getting something without spending any money, if that makes sense. Highly recommended!
I l-o-v-e Pinterest! So fun! But not addicted. Found some great things there. I'm at http://pinterest.com/lynnmosher/. Will look for you!
