Speaking of Beautiful

I’m not much of a bandwagon person, though I probably should be sometimes. Still, I had to get on the wagon and extend my blogohand for this…

real beauty

I’ve got two little girls. What can I say? I want them to know they are beautiful.

Also, speaking of beautiful, I am actually listening to my own words about beauty from yesterday (yeah, that surprised me too!). Anyway, I realize that though writing is one way I can be beautiful/powerful, so is parenting, and I need to dedicate more time to that. So I’m going to be a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday blog poster— to see if this helps me make the most of the time I’ve been given with my beautiful kids.

Yes, that's a great video. Worth replaying. Will miss your daily posts, but understand your need to "pare down". :)

Interesting video. Reminds me of Keats:

'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.'

And as for paring down--you go. I don't understand how people post daily. Reminds me of another dead white guy (Thoreau): "Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity!"

I was just discussing this very thing with a friend--not about the blogging specifically, but about taking time to enjoy our kids and really be with them. Sitting and playing is definitely part of my calling, but it's not visible or productive (in the sense that laundry is).

Keep following your heart.

Wow, I'm so thankful to know people who can say "no." Spending time with your children is a beautiful expression of who God made you to be.

Andrea, Christianne... how sweet that you will miss me! I'll still be here, of course, just a little more relaxed. :)

Eph2810: thanks for the blessings.

Mark... I went and read those links... what gorgeous writing... I had forgotten why these Greats have earned that title (can you say "swoon"? That's pretty much what my heart and mind were doing as I read those entries!)

Jennifer... I guess we want those kids clothed when we play with them, huh? Still, as you say, sometimes we never get around to the play part.

Charity... oh, gosh, I always thought the same of you! A woman of limits, which is probably what contributes to your depth. :)

Spending time with your children is one of the most important things in life that a parent can do. Great video.

what's shaking L.L.

Yes, I have to limit my blogging too. That's a funny statement since i rarely blog. anyway, I don't want to look back and think I cheated my child out of my full attention b/c I was distracted in blogland. The same goes for prayer and the Word with me.

Blessings to you~
