WordCandy Wednesday: The Particular Wheel

I'm enjoying using these wordcandies as poetry prompts. Good language invites more language, yes? A poem then...

It may take months

to find

the way the wheel speaks
itself in circles,

to understand
the particular language—
a whirring, a come-again
before we're through

it may take months to turn

the silent road to you.

Love your poem, and it's reminding me of another wordcandy .... It (writing) takes time.

We hunt for the particular
language worthy enough

to put in our mouths

to try out. How we move
our tongues against teeth

before we open our lips
may take months

to perfect.

We go for a certain feel,
imagine it like the fall

of water over and over
from the wheel,

dipping and lifting,
powered by the most natural

of means.
